We are very proud that Greater Manchester North Scout County has been chosen to run the second ever Future Leaders Programme, in conjunction with the National Training Team.

This one year programme is designed to give participants skills that will aid them to take on senior volunteer management roles in the future.

We are only able to give twenty participants the opportunity this year – if you are interested apply to join the programme today!

Who is it for?

If you are over the age of 18, have a passion for Scouting and a desire to take on key leadership and management roles in the future we want to hear from you!

If you successfully complete the programme you could be well on your way to becoming the next Group Scout Leader, District Commissioner, County Commissioner of UK Chief Commissioner!

What is involved?

There are three residential weekends, two development days and five remote sessions that you must be able to attend. Details are in the Participant Pack; the programme starts in June 2017 and runs through to June 2018.

The programme covers eleven areas, including Organisational Culture, Personal Impact and Public Speaking and Volunteer Leadership.

The programme is NOT Scout training as you will have seen it before, the programme WILL NOT result in a Wood Badge. This programme has been put together with a well known Business School and has been designed to building on Leadership and Management skills. Whilst many skills learnt in Scouting can also be used in life, the skills covered in this programme would be useful in the Workplace, as support for applications for Academic study and for like in general.
