Greater Manchester North


CLASS C:

Crompton Lodges (Moses Gate, Farnworth); Burrs Training Pool (Burrs, Bury)


CLASS B1:

Elton Reservoir; Jumbles Reservoir; Dovestones Reservoir; Hollinworth Lake (April to September inclusive); Watergrove Reservoir (April to September inclusive); Star Mount Lodge (Radcliffe); River Tonge; River Irwell (In normal water conditions except from Ramsbottom to Summerseat); Bury and Bolton Canal (disused); Rochdale Canal (disused);
Note – Both canals have areas of underwater obstructions, mainly metallic, also dumped refuse which cannot be seen from the surface;
All other rivers in the County in normal water conditions.


CLASS B2:

Hollingworth Lake (October to March inclusive); Watergrove Reservoir (October to March inclusive); River Irwell (Ramsbottom to Summerseat in normal water conditions).


CLASS B3:

All rivers in the County in high water conditions.



NOTE: There are many unclassified mill lodges that could be used for training, care should be taken over unknown depths and high walls causing exit problems from the water. All rivers in the county, the river Irwell arE interspersed with many weirs, some large and vertical, care and vigilance is required when water level is normal and extreme caution and consideration is necessary in high water conditions.
